Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef and the former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. Burrell hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and an energised persona on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, reveals simple and easy to master methods for cooks at home. Chef Burrell also has worked in several of the city's most prestigious eateries, studied Italian food, its culture and traditions, and was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion of cooking and food early on. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled following her graduation with an English degree as well as a communications certificate from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is where I spent the most fun time of my life. I couldn't seem to get enough pleasure from the experience. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. It was during this time that her experience in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate the Italian philosophy and culture, and has made an impression on her food and culinary experience. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of kids who struggle. Burrell is also an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate where she promotes awareness of juvenile diabetics. Burrell speaks on her culinary passion and shares her knowledge of the culinary world when she goes on trips across the USA in various roles such as mentors and speakers. Anne has stated during her career in the kitchen she is incredibly fortunate to be able share with others what is essential to her.
